PLYMOUTH — Chief Neil Foley is pleased to share that the Plymouth Fire Relief Association donated $2,000 to Plymouth Youth Baseball and Softball to purchase two Automatic External Defibrillators (AED).
On Monday, Dec. 11, President Josh Prada, Treasurer Sam Palagi, Director Peter Walsh and Secretary Joseph Galofaro of the Plymouth Fire Relief Association presented the donation to Plymouth Youth Baseball and Softball. Chief Foley and Deputy Chief Jerome Hart were also in attendance.
The league will use the donation to ensure an AED is ready for use during games and practices in the event of an injury or sudden cardiac arrest.
“We are so grateful to the Plymouth Fire Relief Association for their generous donation, which will allow us to provide the safest environment possible for our young athletes,” said Plymouth Youth Baseball and Softball President Mike Conway. “The success of Town sports is contingent on the support from the community and this donation is a true testament to that.”
The Plymouth Fire Relief Association was created by the Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 Union to raise donations. These donations are used for firefighter health and wellness, including medical screenings, cancer treatments and disaster relief. The Association also uses donations to assist those in need in our community.
“Having AEDs readily available at sporting events is crucial in an emergency,” said Plymouth Fire Relief Association Treasurer Palagi. “We are excited to assist Plymouth Youth Baseball and Softball with getting these devices placed where they are needed most!”
