Chief G. Edward Bradley is pleased to announce that the Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 will be hosting a Stuff-A-Bus event to benefit Toys for Tots this year.
WHEN:
Beginning Friday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day
WHERE:
Walmart, 300 Colony Place
WHAT:
The Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 invite the community to stuff a bus with gifts to benefit Toys for Tots and provide children in need with gifts of their own this holiday season.
At the event, donors will walk up to the donation area where Plymouth firefighters and other volunteers will approach to collect the donation. Residents are asked to contribute new, unwrapped toys for infants to children age 16. Plymouth firefighters and other volunteers will be stuffing the bus with the donated toys.
All Plymouth firefighters and volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves during the collection. The Plymouth Fire Department requests that all attendees wear a mask and practice proper social distancing as well while attending the event.
Those who would like to limit contact will have the opportunity to drive up to the donation area and a volunteer will assist them.
“This year we are encouraging donors to be mindful of older children as the drive intends to provide age-appropriate gifts for infants up to teenagers,” Chief Bradley said. “As always, we thank our residents for their generous donations and support as we once again host this event. We hope that through this event we will be able to spread some cheer to families who have been hit hard amid the ongoing pandemic.”
This is the 14th year that the department and Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 have taken part in the event. It has been organized each year by Firefighter Sean Page. Approximately 10,140 toys were collected and distributed to families across Plymouth County last year.
In addition to the drive, the Plymouth Fire Department will be accepting toy donations at Station 6 and Station 7. At Station 6, 2209 State Road in Cedarville, a collection box will be inside the station and residents should ring the bells upon their arrival for assistance from the firefighters on duty. At Station 7, 15 Hedge Road in North Plymouth, a collection box for no-contact donations will be available. All toys should be left unwrapped.

Toys for Tots was founded by the U.S. Marine Corps in 1947 to donate toys to kids who are less fortunate during the holiday season. For more information on the Toys for Tots program, visit the foundation’s website.
